A really good friend of mine is an elementary school science teacher and she’s constantly searching for fresh, fun and stimulating science activities for kids. However, she thought she might revisit an old favorite that all the children always appear to really enjoy. That project is creating a model volcano.

She started considering the idea for the volcano project on a trip to Hawaii. Following her search for Maui timeshare rentals she made the decision to stay at a place near the Haleakala national Park which happens to be the home of the Haleakala volcano. The Hawaiian term Haleakala means East Maui volcano and the Haleakala national park is home to a diverse array of animals including a greater number of endangered species than every other park in the National Parks Service.

My friend had a great time on her vacation and spent a lot of time hiking around Kipahulu which is the coastal area surrounding the park and is 12 miles past the town of Hana which is well known for its incredibly winding, narrow road that circles the northeast shoreline of the island. Unfortunately when my friend arrived home she learned of some unfortunate news.

After having a splendid trip to Maui my friend got back home to discover that her home had been broken into. Robbers smashed into a window in the back and stole most of her valuables. After getting in touch with the authorities, submitting a report, cleaning up and attempting to get things to return to normal again she started looking at burglar alarm systems to prevent this type of thing from taking place for a second time. She is also quite interested in home security camera packages so that she would not only have the ability to record proof for the authorities if this did transpire for a second time but she will also have the ability to get on the internet and observe a live feed so that that she may actually check on her residence when she’s not at home.

It is too bad that such a marvelous vacation was ruined once she returned home to this sort of devastating loss but she’s taking the necessary steps to make sure this kind of thing will never occur again.
