Most of us webmasters comment on blogs and forums regularly ensuring we always have an up to date relevant signature providing us with a good link back to our respective sites. Least no we forget that Google is not the only search engine out there and a good positioning within Yahoo, for instance, will pull in a great many visitors for your given subject. Remember, (because it is all too easy to forget) that Yahoo does not operate a PageRank system, thereby dismissing any no follow attributes.

Now, given we have discussed the value of blog postings we now need to look at a method of producing great results from this approach. This is where automated software systems come into their own. These packages will effectively pull in a list of blogs relative to the keyword you ask it to search upon of relevant websites. You then have the option of sorting the retrived information in PageRank order providing you with a valuable overview of sites that are ranked highly in the search engines and to which you can continue with your own link.

Remember I told you to hold that thought earlier? This is because, for this software to be effective you have to READ and UNDERSTAND the blog post you are considering posting upon. If you are looking at an authority site (PR4+) for instance, do not simply put ‘love the site, great post’, and you link for this is likely to be removed by the website owner and quite rightly too. You need to have an ethos of respect when posting to high caliber sites and bring something constructive to the post. Given you will be using this software to locate relevant articles to post to then I would assume you know something about the subject – this again is another reason why this software is so useful because it will only bring back results relating to the keywords you input.

As with all these things results take some time to be seen but the more authoritative sites you post relevant and useful comments to the further on up the rankings your site will progress despite having the ‘no follow’ attribute.
